The Hot Spring Pools /One of San Miguel de Allendes Oldest Activities

San Miguel de Allende activities have increased and become extremely diverse ,there are many choices to make. Scouring the town for all it had was really always enough to keep you entertained for at least three trips to San Miguel Mx. Of course you were always ready to do again what you did the past visit as it was so much fun and so very different from home.
Now the list of San Miguel de Allende activities has grown immensely in choices. What was available is still available but there are lots of other options too. For example, 20 years ago people spoke of how great a day at the hot springs had been and too bad now had closed. If you were a part of the san Miguel crowd you knew about a remote dirt road that lead to a lovely set of two pools. both shaded equally by an old set of railway tracks. That made them like long tunnels. At both ends the air flow was slightly halted by a half moon of stained glass squares that gave a beautiful light to the interior.
One of the pools was warm and the other was very hot . There was a huge tree that identified the spot from a distance. One of the best San Miguel de allende attractions did not have a sign and it was only known by word of mouth . Within a little while of arrival a little boy would show up and you paid him about two dollars equivalent and he sat under the tree watched your belongings and could even come up with some “refrescos” for you if you asked . After an accidental drowning caused by too much alcohol this great spot was closed only to be reopened as La Grutta a few years later. There had been a accidental drowning there after a man consumed too much alcohol and the owner, said to be extremely ornery, shut down forever it seemed. In the mid 90′s the original owner fell ill and so, less able to get angry about his children re-opening the hot springs pools . Literally years went by that you could go almost at any time, pay about three dollars and find yourself almost alone or maybe 5 other people there on the busiest of days. La Grutta was a secret all the town residents shared . Then the man passed away and the land he had was further divided for the family and several opened their own hotspring and put out their sign and their own version of bliss. Up sprung today’s second favourite, Escondido Place.
Now there are at least five options to choose from if Hot Springs would be on your list of San Miguel de Allende activities. For more great info on San Miguel de Allende Activities come to www.sanmiguelconcierge.com
